coming to meet you, originally uploaded by aidansmac.
We went to the zoo yesterday with some friends. Had lunch and wandered around. Kids had fun even though most of the animals seemed to be hiding.
The sting rays are leaving next week. The kids have really enjoyed the interactive exhibit. You get to put your hand in the water and touch them. If you are really lucky, it’ll be feeding time when you are there. Then you get to hold fish or shrimp under the water and they come and slurp it out of your hand. ewwww but the kids thought it was really cool. What’s more likely to spark interest and discussion: a coloring sheet in class or running your hand over the smooth, slippery, firmness of a live animal? (Even the discription has evoked discussion; are they slimy? hard? soft? smooth? cool? ) This is the first time we brought the underwater camera. It was difficult since I wasn’t under the water. I just had to hold it down and shoot. I got a few though.
D had gymnastics in the evening. He really enjoys it. I had thought I’d do about a three minute video for every week. Not that we’d see much change from week to week, but to look back six months or a year later could be fun. So foar I’ve taped two of about six weeks and haven’t gotten either online. Oh well. I’ll get my act together sometime.
