We’re slowly reassembling the toy room. The kids have longed for their toys and are having a blast. They’ve been getting out a lot of games lately. Yesterday C and B played Zingo (it’s like bingo but you pull two cards at a time). While he definitely grabbed what he needed if it was there, he also would point out to her that she needed a tile. Then they played Cariboo, which is a memory game where you look behind little windows to find balls. When you’ve put all the balls in the little whole you get the treasure.
Today D had gymnastics. They were doing a make up class because the teacher’s been gone. Afterward he and one of the boys ran up and asked if his friend could come to our house. So we had an extra kid or a while today. They played Twister – grandma got us a cool one that came with a little rug – and they played this balance game with stacking robots on a teeter totter.
Games are fun; Well, obviously, they’re games. But they are also great for learning. From learning to take turns, to learning colors, numbers, letters, to learning to count, to learning strategy games can provide all types of thinking while the kids just think they’re having fun.
