Veggies from CSA

Veggies from CSA, originally uploaded by aidansmac.

Picked up our veggies for the week. It’s going to be a challenge. We’re more tomato, pepper, sweet veggie people. This week we got baby carrots (yeah!), parsley, spring lettuce mix, green (as in new) red onion, baby fennel (anyone like the taste of anise?), Japanese turrnips (sharp), black radishes (sharp), escarole (bitter) and purple kohlrabi (crunchy, yummy but we still have green left from last week). So basically a bunch of turnip, radish, type veggies. hmmmm . . . thinking, thinking, thinking

I do like the CSA though. I knew we’d get veggies we wouldn’t necessarily pick ourselves and that was one of the things I liked about it. The kids all ate some raw kohlrabi tonight. This will force us out of our carrot, potato, bell pepper, tomato routine. OK this week is a little far out of my comfort zone but I still like the idea.
