D passed his swim level yesterday. Unfortunately we didn’t know they were going to test him so no camera. He just passed up to the last level they teach at this swim school. This is freestyle, butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke. When he passed they said he could do swim team for them now. He was interested - of course - but it’s the same nights and time as gymnastics.
At 6 1/2 he still can’t catch a ball but ask him to swim butterfly or do a back handspring and he’s all over it. Every kid is different. He has always had an abundance of energy and amazing gross motor skills. Now as he’s getting older it is starting to become even more obvious. Daddy keeps saying if he decides to pick up ballet he’d have the trifecta of lean muscle sports.

How are the kids liking their new teachers? You’ll have to keep me updated if D competes in any swim meets! I am sure they all still love swimming and are learning something new every week! Best of luck to all three of your little fish!

Jessica,
The kids are so excited that you wrote. D is writing you a story (may take a few days) and C is drawing you a picture. B has been bouncing around from instructor to instructor since you left. They put her in with Chris after you (eek! he’s quite a change from her darling Miss Jessica) and after crying for a month I finally got an explanation: “I want a girl!” so they’ve been moving her from girl teach to girl teacher until an opening appears. Very accommodating.
As soon as D gets the froggy kick from breast stroke they’re moving him to competitive strokes; he’s very excited. There is a meet next month and I think he may compete.
They miss you. You are very gifted teacher. I wish you well and good luck in finding a wonderful job. Check back in a few days, we may have pictures or stories for you.
