Missing their toys

May 25th, 2007 · No Comments

We’ve been in the midst of one project or another for months: ripping out carpet, filling in sunken living room, putting down lamenent floor. All the while shoving things from one room to another, never having anything easily accessible. The kids’ room is finally getting sort of organized. The kids can find their stuff, play with it and put it back. Amazing.

They’ve done art, puzzles, played with Little People, and built robots. It still needs a little work but now everything will have a space. It’s impossible to clean up if there is no where to put things. It’s been so long since some of this stuff was out that they’re having a great time playing with it again. Got the toys out just in time for summer.

Phew - mid-May and 104 degrees. We are on the opposite schedule of most other places. Stay inside most of the year and then play like mad in the summer. We play outside eight or nine moths a year and stay in during the summer. It’s time for indoor toys and air conditioning. When you’re at 100+ in the spring, you tend to stay indoors in the summer. We need to switch our schedules around from lazing about until midmorning to getting up and getting out while it’s still cool.
