C 5th birthday 1

Happy birthday C! Now that you are 5, you are getting to be a big boy. It has been all Sta Wars, all the time around here: Star Wars legos, Luke and R2-D2 for Halloween, Star Wars imaginary play, all the way to astonomy discussion about how different planets can have different numbers of stars. It has been everything Star Wars but the movies. He had been told he wouldn’t be old enough until he was five and took us very literally. All that he wanted for his birthday was to watch STAR WARS, the epic saga of Luke Skywalker in a galaxy far, far away. We have been playing Lego Star Wars and he seems to have remembered the entire story from playing the game and grilling me for information. He wanted to have a small party with just a few friends and he wanted R2-D2 and C-3PO to be there. When it was time for the party his friends showed up and they ran around in the back yard playing on the jungle gym. Before it got too late we pulled down the screen and turned the projector on. We had to stop the movie half way through so we could have some cake. We baked a domed cake and decorated it to look like R2-D2. We never made it back to the movie. Everyone had a great time playing with C’s new Star Wars toys, but it was already getting late.

C had to finish Star Wars when he got up in the morning. When that was finished we had to watch the Empire Strikes Back. I am sure that we will be watching Return of the Jedi very soon.
