Well, it was very last minute, but we headed up to Sedona last week. Got a very late start – part of the last minuteness of it – so we weren’t there long. Had a good time though. We ate a late lunch and then went to see some red. We wandered up one mountain – a small one at that – to see the view. Snapped a few photos of the kids at the top but it was very bright and glarey.
Back down the mountain and we headed to Tlaquepaque. It’s only a shopping area but it’s full of art and sculpture, winding little cobblestoned alleyways, Mexican tile and winding staircases. We looked at art and wandered around. The kids got a little wiggly while we wandered so daddy invented a new game -
camera tag! The kids ran around while he tried to ‘catch’ them. Of course, while acting like you don’t want to be caught you have to run – repeatedly – by the tagger. So they ran and hid and ran by again.
I went into one last shop full of breakable objects to look around. I came out to huge cuddle pile. Somehow the kids that argue, bicker, and just can’t get along also have moments of bliss. (If you look close enough, you can see that all three of them are squashed in there. Of all the photos taken lately, I think this is the one for the wall . . .)
