The Guys

On Friday we headed down to Tucson for a gym meet after picking D up at Casa Vida. C just did not want to go - not to Tucson, not out of the house. Luckily grandma had been down shopping and took pity on the homebody, swooping him up and taking him home with her. Going home with grandma isn’t exactly the same as being drug two hours away to sit on bleachers half the day for your brother.

Swing Saturday we went to the meet. He had been so nervous at the first one, he was miserable. This time he was much happier. Had a good time with all the guys. They say the first year is really just to get them used to competing and memorizing their routines; they’ll have years to worry about scores and getting things just right. I was impressed once again with his coach - good, bad or silly, they all got high fives and pats on the back. At 7 I think learning that this can be fun is the most important thing. Strangely enough, rather than putting the video on this blog, daddy decided to revive an old one: gymnastics movie.

We had planned on hanging out in Tucson, but after a late Friday night and very early Saturday morning, the time after the meet was spent chilling. We headed to 4th Avenue to grab a bite to eat and wonderedSilly Clown into the 4th Ave Street Fair. Had some fun walking around, checking out art, talking to artists. Sunday we went downtown just to wonder through some art galleries and check out old buildings.

Grabbed a late lunch with some tired, playful kids and then we drove home.
