So it’s Thursday again . . . and we’re still waiting for a post from daddy. We’re getting behind because I’ve been working so the person spending time with the kids should be posting . . . .

Kids in the jailPanning for gold

We had the last day of the kids art block at the Mesa Arts Center until the fall. The boys had fun acting in the art block play about the spider king. We meet up with some other families from our homeschool group. Everyone had a fun time going in and out of the exhibits together. The kids really seemed to enjoy it when I locked them all in the jail cells together. You would be surprised how many kids you can fit in an old jail cell and no matter how hard they tried they couldn’t push the door open. They thought it was really funny to be locked in, but when we were done there it was time to go gold panning. The museum has a pretty good exhibit for gold panning where the water will trickle down the rocks so the kids can sift through the sand to find some gold. Everyone seems to get a little wet while scooping up water and sand to find the gold. Kids really seem to get wet when the walk into the small pool at the base of the exhibit to get the pans so they can find the gold. This is the time when to museum security guard comes out and tells the kids that they can’t swim in the water.
