On The Road, Day 16: Washington D.C.

Posted by on July 14, 2008

It is getting harder and harder to get going in the morning. The kids just want to stay in the room and watch TV. DC is the last stop on our trip. Mommy and Daddy wanted to do 2 days, but we only got to do one. Daddy got up really early to take the car for its oil change and then we drove to DC. We had the crazy idea of taking our bike on the National Mall. We could see more things without everyone getting to tired. The bikes were great. We could ride our bikes from one thing to the next. We started by riding to the Washington monument, D wanted to be the videographer for the day, I can’t wait to hear the narration. We could ride right by the reflecting pool on our way to the Lincoln monument. As we weaved by the pedestrians we could the murmurs of “that’s the way to go” or “wish we thought of that” as we zoomed by. D,C and B only thought they were done for the day until we took them into the Air and Space Museum. The boys eyes opened wide with wonder as they pointed the planes hanging overhead space capsules.

We drove straight from DC to Connecticut arriving about 1 AM. Finally.
