Another First Day . . .

Happy
The boys decided they wanted to attend not one, but two, homeschool programs. So Tuesday was another first day. Eagleridge is much more academic than Casa Vida, which is almost all enrichment. We’ll see what they think. It’s a shorter day, but two days a week. When they had asked for the one day of Casa Vida plus two more day, we asked if they wouldn’t rather just go to school. But no, just these progams.

So packing another lunch, getting up and ready and out the door (although the later start time combines with being much closer actually lets us leave a blissful hour later). C was met at the door and asked to find his name on a desk and told there would be playdough there waiting for him. Ah, the joys of kindergarden. D went in and sat in a circle; they headed out to music before we’d left.

We spent another day finishing up the painting of the kitchen. And reading. When she hits a streak it’s book after book after book. This time all from the box we were hoping to get rid of to make room on our shelves. She diligently dug them all out and insisted she loved and needed books such as the I’m A Big Brother book. Of course she also wants to save the bin of Rescue Heroes her brothers are willing to part with and the wooden tow truck and garbage truck. It may all have to be snuck out in the dead of night.

We headed out to pick up the boys. C had another wonderful day. Made a friend and thought it was everything was lots of fun. D talked about all the school rules, what happens if you break them, oh yeah and they went to music and did a game to learn about other kids in the class. I’m not sure if it’s the difference in K to 2nd, difference in expectation or difference in personality, but they definitely seem to be getting a different vibe from these experiences. One of their friends in also going and we brought him home with us. Several hours of play later - and discovering the grill was out of gas - we took all the kids out to dinner and had their buddy picked up. Pretty good day.

Glad to hear things are going better. Sometimes a little inspiration goes a long ways. Hey, if you have any more wooden toys that the boys and B are willing to part with we may be interested. Also, let us know about some play time.

Thanks! Yes B has been asking about having your kiddos over to play. And we do have wooden toys left to get rid of. The boys are out now on T, Th and F, but I have a hostess with the mostest over here who’d love to have you all over for tea.

Latisha, wow I’ve never been a god before. It’s rather a heady feeling. Thank you though. They are getting older, changing interests and needs and we are trying to flow, adapt and change while challenging them and meeting both their needs and desires. Just that sentence leaves me tired. Honestly though they are so happy having a few days to themselves, their sister is loving the alone with mommy time and it’s all feeding off each other. They’re happier, she’s happier, makes us happier and the family goes round and round!
