Zoo Camp . . . day 2
Yup, day 2. Why? We totally forgot day 1. I mean, who expects the first day of camp on memorial day? Luckily we remembered late Monday night and got them there for the second day. From touching hissing cockroaches and boa constrictors to making art about what you’d see out a submarine porthole, they are … Continue reading
Wednesday Was The Zoo
To follow up on my sampler I’m evidently stitching in my head (Tuesday was library day, Wednesday was the zoo), we finally did get to a field trip. We headed to the zoo on Wednesday morning planning on a quick visit before C’s 1 o’clock gymnastics class. As soon as we entered we saw a … Continue reading
Change of Plans
Last Friday we were supposed to be on the school tour for the Society for Creative Anachronism’s Estrella War. SCA are the middle ages/renaissance reenactment people and war is their big gathering of many groups. It’s big huge fun. We went two years ago and had a blast. Tours of a working blacksmith, knights and … Continue reading
still warm enough
We had a really hot summer this year. It felt to stay hotter longer. We stayed in the house for the end of the summer. It seems we recently started playing on our bikes and running in the back yard. I guess I wasn’t imagining the warm weather though. The kids found the kiddie pool … Continue reading
Weekend Away, part 2
So while most of us went to Tucson, C just plain didn’t want to go. Grandma happened to be here shopping while we were getting ready and swooped in to rescue him. Rather than coming to Tucson with us to spend hours sitting on bleachers, he headed up to grandma and papa’s for the weekend. … Continue reading
Tree Park
Last week we went to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum with some friends in our homeschool group. The kids took a tour and learned about tree rings, determining diameter of trees, sorting leaves but the most fun was the picnic afterward. (Lots of photos in the gallery for this one.)
Road Trip
Well, it was very last minute, but we headed up to Sedona last week. Got a very late start – part of the last minuteness of it – so we weren’t there long. Had a good time though. We ate a late lunch and then went to see some red. We wandered up one mountain … Continue reading
Weekend in Willcox
We spent last weekend in Willcox with grandma. I’d never really heard of Willcox but it comes up every time you look for u-pick fruit or veggies in the state. We wanted to go apple picking and decided to go away. We drove down Saturday morning and spent the day at Old Tucson. Their known … Continue reading
Happy Birthday Big Girl!
B turned three today, hip, hip, hurray! We spent the morning opening presents and playing with them. Her big brothers were very big helpers with both. Then we headed to the Desert Botanical Garden’s DÃa de los Muertos festival; her choice of activities. We make tissue paper flowers and colored skull masks. We also went … Continue reading
Beach Bums
So after Legolanding on Monday, we were lazy bums on Tuesday. The boys played with their new big lego sets they got at the Legoland shop (yeah for grandpa’s birthday money!) while B bounced around the hotel room. Once we could pull them away from their toys, we joined everyone at the beach. It was … Continue reading
