Busy, Busy

June 5th, 2010 · No Comments

Summer - and heat - is finally here. Well, heat’s been coming for a while. We spent the last few weeks having water balloon fights and playing on the slip n’ slide and eating tons of frozen juice popsicles. We’re trying to keep busy, and mainly inside, for the summer. But this last week had […]

Welcoming in Spring with Bacchanal Joy

April 4th, 2010 · 1 Comment

So in a nontraditional move, which is fairly traditional for us, we welcomed in spring by having a rave. Yup, a rave. After finding a box of Halloween decorations in the garage - still unpacking from the move - we decided to actually have the dance party we’ve always said would be fun but had […]

Ending Hibernation

October 3rd, 2009 · No Comments

While the rest of the US gets ready for autumn, leaving behind outdoor activities, we are ending our self-imposed hibernation. It is just too hot to do much outside all summer here. But once the temperature drops, we head outside and activities begin again.
The end of summer seemed to launch the beginning of the active […]

Not So Boring After All

August 5th, 2009 · 1 Comment

I was chatting with an online friend and apologized for the delays between pm’s. I explained that I was helping to make a tambourine. Today felt like a total wash. I’ve got a headache and it just feels like we laid around all day, but as I wrote it out one thing after another came […]

Mighty Mud Mania

July 17th, 2009 · No Comments

Scottsdale, AZ host an annual mud mania converting huge swathes of a park into swamps, mud matches, obstacle courses, soapy water slides and misty playgrounds. Met up with a friend, which is always a good time. Only had the small camera with me so not great shots and really not a whole lot to say […]

Bowling Queen

June 17th, 2009 · No Comments

Ms. B is our Wii bowling queen. Her high score today was 197. The best part was that her brother quit half way through so she bowled for him - with one remote in her left hand and one in her right she set two records. One for herself (the 197) and one for D […]

Birthday Bowling

September 24th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Another great thing about homeschooling? Kids are free during the day when things aren’t busy.  D had a bowling birthday party for this 8th birthday. Lots of fun bowling, pizza, cake and fun in the game room. Overall a definite success.
At home he did a little with his electro-magnetic science kits. We hooked a battery […]

Gone All Day

September 15th, 2008 · No Comments

We went for dim sum with some friends from our homeschool group for the Chinese mid-Autumn festival. Then we headed to the dentist for all three kids to have checkups. And then we went to a roller skating rink where the boys homeschool enrichment program was having a get together. All three of the had […]

Gladiators!

June 13th, 2008 · No Comments

For those of you who are about to fight, we salute you…………………The boys gymnastics gym had a sleep over a few weeks ago. It was boys only, no girls - even mommy had to stay home. Our boys thought it was a fun filled night: friends, games […]

Gymnastics Season Is Over

March 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

D had gymnastics last Saturday. Their first year most the coaches are just trying to get them to remember the whole routines - boys have even more events that girls: floor, parallel bars, high bar, rings, vault and pommel horse. It’s a lot to remember with tons of chaos and people watching. D’s been having […]
